Well... I guess it really all depends on who it is that you ask. If you're asking the general population, I'm fairly certain that they'll tell you I'm a fairly charismatic individual. And let's face it - I'm a criminal lawyer - and at the heart of it, if I didn't have the charisma to go along with my knowledge of the judicial system, I'd be a piss poor lawyer at that. I'm not usually the type to brag in any sense of the word, really, but I do have a brain in my head. I graduated high school early and wound up working my way through law school at quite an advanced pace. One of my professors wound up hiring me on originally at his firm in New York City. I admit, I'm a fairly serious individual. I'm the type of person that always thinks a few plays ahead of the game. Honestly, sometimes it drives me insane to constantly be thinking of what's going to be happening before it even comes close to happening. Playing with statistics and probabilities in my head. Life is a gamble, regardless of what way you look at it. You can make one decision based on what you feel is the right thing to do and the right way to go about something, but it could wind up biting you in the ass when freewill kicks in. It's simple really. I'm all about knowing how to handle people. I am a people person. It goes hand in hand with the charismatic thing. It's who I am and have always been and I suppose it's a part of the reason that I'm able to get along with most people, really. When it comes to women... I'm not a player by any means... I'd much rather settle down with one woman than I would pursue dozens of them. I admit, I don't have the time to contend with a whole hell of a lot outside of my professional life, and so I do my best to treat whatever woman I am with in the best way possible. Sometimes it winds up biting me in the ass... sometimes it winds up working out for the better, but I have yet to find that one woman who'll stick around. Maybe it'll be the woman I'm with now, who knows? But, as much as I am doing for her right now, I'm not entirely sure she's happy... appearance I'm about 6'4"... fairly tall, I suppose. I keep myself in shape for the most part. I'm not a health nut by any means of the word, but I certainly know the benefits of keeping in shape. As horrible as it sounds, a good looking lawyer will do a hell of a lot better in the courtroom than not. I know, it sounds utterly ridiculous, but it's all a part of the truth. A screwed up system, I work in, but it is what it is, really. I have blonde hair... It kind of varies in what I do with it, for the most part. I usually either keep it shorter or at a medium length. My eyes? They're very definitely blue. A striking blue, really. As for my own, personal style... Well... I'm usually in a suit for the most part, what with being in the courtroom on a regular basis, but when I'm in a more relaxed scene, I tend to opt for simple stuff. Jeans and a t-shirt. That kind of thing. I'm not the kind of guy who needs to flaunt his money or success through what he wears, though I admit that my girlfriend seems quite keen on decking me out in expensive suits more often than not... history I grew up in Myrtle Beach with my brother, Riley. My parents moved here shortly before I was born, actually, straight from Atlanta. It wasn't the kind of place that they wanted to raise their children in and they wanted somewhere a little quieter. They were looking in South Carolina originally because my mother has family in these parts and, eventually, they stumbled upon Myrtle Beach. It seemed like the perfect place to establish a family and home for themselves, so they settled in and settled down. I was raised with a strong sense of responsibility. I'm the older brother. I'm the one meant to protect and look after his younger brother. I'm four years older than him. I was in high school while he was still in grade school and I've always been a little more built than Riley. For the most part, I did a good job at scaring the bullies away from him and keeping them off his tail. I'm not sure he always appreciated the fact, but honestly... I love my brother, even if we don't always see eye to eye. But I think it was that strong sense of responsibility that helped me get to where I am in life. I've always been rather charismatic... have a certain charm to me... I can't recall what it was that first turned me in the direction of Law, but I do remember what it was specifically that made me want to become a lawyer. It was my uncle on my father's side. He had always teasingly told me, growing up, that I'd make a hell of a lawyer because I never knew when to drop an argument and always made a good run of it. I was exceptionally bright and good with words and wording. I could back anyone into a corner with little more than a few statements. Personally, I think it was all of my experience as an older brother with a younger brother who simply didn't except the phrase "because I'm older than you" as a term for validating a point. I graduated from high school a year earlier and went right off to pre-law at Stanford in California. Worked my way through pre-law and, pretty soon, was finishing up law school as well at the age of only 24 years old. My professor must have been exceptionally impressed with my work because he hired me on at his firm, giving me a few smaller cases at first. But, by my second year with the firm, he was handing off bigger responsibilities. My boss' son never really liked me overly much because he only did the bare minimum to get by in a court room. I went the extra mile and it was part of what made me so successful. So. When my former professor decided to retire and give his share of the partnership to his son... I immediately began looking for another job. Which is where I'm at now. Sure enough, the boss' son wound up firing me. Something that actually estranged him from his father. The credibility of the law firm has plummeted since then - I'm not taking full credit for that... he fired a few more key players because they were more successful than he. So here I am, back home again. I decided to take some time off and spend it with my girlfriend here. She's actually an heiress in her own right, but a business minded woman all her own. She's the American face for Merivale Property Management and has begun working in Myrtle Beach on a project. I'm taking this time off as a vacation of sorts before I apply for a firm in the area. At the moment, we're living at my parent's estate here in Myrtle Beach and enjoying ourselves though, I admit, tensions have been rather high with my brother and I under the same roof. Apparently Riley's animosity is still a force to be reckoned with at times. Hello, my name is MEL and I am 23 years old. I have been RPing for 10+ years and this is my 6TH character.
